Crozes-Hermitage Rouge
Crozes-Hermitage vineyards encompass the less favorable northern slope of the Hermitage hill and outlying land that makes “Crozes” much more abundant than Hermitage. Syrah produces red wines that have some of the character of red Hermitage but always in a lighter, less intense style, and very rarely do they have the capacity to age. Floral, moderately full-bodied white Crozes-Hermitage is made from Marsanne and Roussanne. Well-chosen red or white Crozes-Hermitage is one of the northern Rhône's great buys. (Wine/Appellations)
