Swan Hill
Swan Hill is a region that straddles the border of New South Wales and Victoria in the arid west and relies on irrigation from the Murray River for production. It is often thought of in conjunction with the massive Murray-Darling district, located just to its west. Vineyards are generally located on the alluvial benchlands of the river and the hot, arid climate produces consistent crops of classic Australian grapes, with an emphasis on Chardonnay.
