Moulin-a-Vent is named after a historic windmill that has become the symbol of the area. The region's vineyards contain a good deal of granite and quartz and Moulin-a-Vent has a deserved reputation for producing the fullest-bodied, most-tannic, and most age-worthy wines in Beaujolais.
