New South Wales
New South Wales is Australia's oldest and also one of its largest wine production areas; 30% of the country's wine industry is located here and output is growing yearly.

Within New South Wales there are many Australian Geographical Indications or "GI Zones" including Central Ranges, South Coast, Southern New South Wales, Nothern Rivers, Northern Slopes, and the flagship region of New South Wales- Hunter Valley. Hunter Valley is most prized for its Shiraz and Semillon. Murray-Darling is also a major area shared between New South Wales and Victoria responsible mostly for box wine and mass-produced brands like Yellowtail. Other major brands to come out of New South Wales are De Bortoli and Rosemount. (Wine/Appellations)
