Legs
Legs is a wine appreciation term used to describe the rivulets (or sheets, or "tears") of wine that decend the inner glass after swirling. A wine's body or viscosity can often by estimated by the way in which the legs fall. This phenomenon has to do with alcohol content and surface tension. A look at the legs will give you tips on the wine's nature in a dry wine, slow falling legs indicate a full-bodied-wine; quick-falling indicate a light wine.
