About Bolivian Spirits

The leading spirit and national drink of Bolivia is Singani, a clear brandy produced from Muscat of Alexandria grapes. In fact, Singani is only produced in Bolivia, with large, small and artisan producers all making examples. It has a clear appearance with fragrant notes of orange blossom, tropical fruits, toffee and cream. Generally these are unaged (or aged for only a few months) and are very distinctive brandies, offering a sense of the local terroir; grapes used for Singani are planted more than 5000 feet above sea level.
