Brachetto is a red wine from Piedmont; while it can be a dry wine, its most famous version is a slightly sparkling dessert wine called Brachetto d'Acqui. This is somewhat of a red version of the popular Moscato d'Asti; Brachetto has flavors of red cherry, cranberry and strawberry with a light sweetness. The wine has around only 6% alcohol and is meant to be consumed very fresh with strawberries, peaches or pound cake with vanilla ice cream.
