About Champagne Blanc de Noirs

About Champagne Blanc de Noirs
While a Blanc de Blancs Champagne is produced using only light-skinned grapes, a Blanc de Noirs Champagne uses dark-skinned grapes, most commonly Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, although 100% Pinot Noir Champagnes are quite common as well. The color of the juice doesn’t reflect the red grapes, instead remaining ‘white’ in hue. Much like all Champagne, while the grapes influence the flavors, so does the terroir and production of the wine, so some Blanc De Noirs may have more red fruit flavors, others may not. Notably, this style had become more popular among producers located on the English Channel.
