Serve in a Zinfandel Wine Glass
With more than 6000 years of winemaking heritage, Armenia today is home to many excellent reds, made in an array of styles. Produced primarily in the Ararat Valley (not far from where Noah built his ark), the reds are made from indigenous varieties such as Areni Noir, Kakhet and Meghrabuyr and tend to be oak-aged with impressive depth of fruit and medium tannic levels. Generally spicy with cranberry and tangy berry fruit, these are meant to be paired with dishes such as lamb, lighter game and stews.
