Ruby color. Aromas and flavors of cranberry chutney, raspberry, cocoa powder, and baking spices and dried sage with a velvety, crisp, dry medium body and a tingling, amusing, medium-length finish that shows touches of red cherry, raspberry cranberry with baking spices, cocoa dust, and mushrooms in cherry balsamic with medium tannins and light oak flavor. A very approachable Pinot Noir that would pair well with a variety of cuisine and dishes.

Burgundy Bourgogne Rouge

Bourgogne Rouge describes red wines from France's Burgundy region. The principal red grape in Burgundy, which is the basis for this region's most famous and expensive wines. Another red grape from Burgundy is Gamay, which is plated in the Beaujolais zone, in southern Burgundy.

As Burgundy is a cool region, Pinot Noir and Gamay are planted here to make wines that have appealing cherry and strawberry fruit and have only moderate levels of tannins. Generally a Bourgogne Rouge is quite approachable upon release, although the finest examples age for decades. These wines work beautifully with game birds (duck is a classic pairing), coq au vin and cream cheeses.
