Serve in a Burgundy Wine Glass
Beaujolais is a red Burgundy wine made exclusively from the Gamay grape. Bright crimson/purple, Beaujolais has a zesty fruity character (red plums, currant, cranberry), healthy acidity and light tannins.
While a simple Beaujolais-Villages is meant for early consumption, cru Beaujolais - made from grapes grown in a single village - can age longer. The most age worthy of these is Moulin-a-Vent; this wine more closely resembles a Burgundy made from Pinot Noir in its weight and complexity and can easily age for a decade.
Lighter Beaujolais can be served slightly chilled, as the tannins are so light. Serve with seafood salads and simple chicken preparations.
