Medium garnet color. Aromas and flavors of raspberry, pomegranate juice, and vanilla bean with a supple, crisp, dry medium body and a peppery, compelling, medium-long finish conveying impressions of black tea and leather with drying, fine, grippy tannins and moderate oak flavor. A tangy red with bright red fruits and sweet vanilla notes.

While Portugal is best known for its production of Port wines, there are several types of red wine also produced in various regions. The best known of these include the robust reds produced from varieties that are used to produce Port, varieties such Touriga Nacional and Tinta Cao. These wines are produced in the Dour Valley and are ripe with black fruit flavors; the wines generally have slightly low acidity, due to the hot local climate. Drink these wines with rich red meats, game or aged cheeses.
