Wine & Spirits Magazine
Wine and Spirits Magazine is less of a lifestyle publication and more of a real wine (and food) publication. It has a strong coverage of U.S. and imported wines. The website does not display most of the magazine content but a "Wine of the Week " section is always worth a look.
Wine Spectator
Does anything need to be said about the 800 pound gorilla of wine periodicals? If you want to know what fancy California wines to buy (or avoid!) and generally stay in tune with the wine drinking fashions of the moneyed classes, you need this bi-weekly, glossy coffee mag. An elaborate web site too--but it is highly unlikely that you will be reading about it for the first time here.
Gambero Rosso (Italian Version)
Gambero Rosso, or “the red shrimp,” is Italy's leading wine publication. It is beautifully photographed and a joy to look at though the English language version often gets some wires crossed in the translation. Nonetheless, it can offer unique insight for major fans of Italian wine as it is written from an Italian perspective. It also features invaluable nuggets about Italian food and travel destinations within Italy—particularly restaurants. The GB panel rates thousands of Italian wines a year with their favorites getting one, two, or three
biccheris
, or glasses. The three biccheri wines are highly sought after in Italy, though there is some grumbling—and it is fair—the the Gambero Rosso reviewers consistently show a bias toward New World-style wines. (Read: lots of oak and color). In the end, the GB offers a refreshing change of pace from Anglo-centric wine glossies and is a must for those chasing

Decanter Magazine
Decanter Magazine is one of the leadng glossy wine publications in the U.K. Notable for the high caliber of its feature journalism , it also has a strong news section on its impressive website. Despite the fact that some sections of Decanter's editorial team have a slightly incestuous relationship with wine producers and the wine trade in general (at least by U.S. standards), this is one of the most entertaining and informative of wine publications in the world.
Connoisseurs Guide to California Wines
This California-based and Golden State-centric publication has been going for 26 years. It comes highly recommended if you are passionate about California wine. It is a slim book but a tad more thoughtful and focused than most. Frequent vertical tastings of old California classics are required reading for anyone that collects California reds.
