91 • Lynfred 2007 Zinfandel, American $25.
Deep garnet violet color. Aromas of strawberry-blueberry custard, banana taffy, rose hips, and pickled tomatoes follow through on a supple, round entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body with very good depth and fine balance. Finishes with a long, enveloping dusty tannin fade. Nice interplay between ripe fruit, candy, and savory notes with make this shine at the table; try with aged gouda burgers. (tasted on May-10-2010)

Deep garnet color. Aromas of spicy sugar plums, candied orange peel, and tomato frittata follow through on a round, juicy entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with very good depth and a tangy sour cherry jam and grassy earth accented finish. Nice character and style; serve with boar, or snout-to-tail cuisine. (tasted on May-17-2010)

Deep amber color. Vivid dimensional aromas of dried apricot, apricot cider, butter roasted nuts and buttercream follow through on a plush, velvety entry to a fruity-yet-dry full body with great texture and depth. Finishes with a tangy, dried apricot skin, dusty mineral, and peppery spice flourish. A delicious and pure dessert wine or cocktail inspiration. (tasted on Jul-12-2010)

Aromas of blackberry-raisin chutney, light molasses, cocoa, and wet cedar follow through on a round entry to fruity sweet medium-to-full body with very good depth and tangy mouthwatering acidity. Finishes with a long spicy raisin and dusty mineral fade. Tasty and vibrant. (tasted on Jul-12-2010)

Aromas of dusty honeydew melon skin, raw smoked bacon, and kiwi are distinctive and follow through on a round, silky entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with watermelon, savory roasted turnip, and baked lemon notes. Finishes with a crisp, tart citrus and mineral accents. An interesting table wine to serve with smoked poultry. (tasted on May-17-2010)
