Bright brown brick red color. Fruity aromas and flavors of dried berries, vanilla scone, chocolate toffee, and banana chips with a silky, bright, dry-yet-fruity light-to-medium body and a graceful, appealing, breezy finish that presents impressions of rice pudding, hint of mint and eucalyptus, and cedar with well-integrated tannins and light oak flavor. A solid Chianti that will be versatile.

Tuscany Chianti Normale

Serve in a Zinfandel Wine Glass
The Chianti zone, situated between the cities of Florence and Siena in Tuscany, constitutes the zone where a Chianti normale can be produced. The wine is made primarily with Sangiovese, with other grapes in the blend being local varieties such as Canaiolo or Colorino or international varieties such as Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon.

Chianti normale is light to medium-bodied with red cherry fruit, moderate tannins and tart acidity; it has always been popular in restaurants, especially as the prices are moderate. Drink young (one to two years of age) with pizza, lighter pastas and simple chicken or pork dishes.
