Lightly oxidized aromas of overripe cherries and bananas, polished wood, chestnuts, and berry vinaigrette with a supple, tangy medium body and a lifted pomegranate, herb, spice, and grassy earth accented finish. Deep Garnet with purple rim. Jammy fruit-packed aromas of black raspberries, ripe black plums and morello cherries coupled with chocolate, mint and mocha. Opulent fruit on the palate ends dry with a fairly short, tannin-forward finish. Bold fruit up front with medium acidity. Enough fruit tannin to cellar a couple more years and let the fruit flavors mellow and unfold into more complexity. (tasted on Sep-03-2013)
