95 • Dr. Zenzen 2003 Auslese, Riesling, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer $29.99.
Golden yellow color. Rich aromas of sautéed green apple, grilled lemon, and rubbery minerality follow through on a broad, satiny entry to a tangy, fruity-yet-dry medium body with dried peach, golden raisin puree, and dried flower notes. Finishes with a wash of oily fuel-like minerality and caramelized apple skins. A powerful auslese to serve with triple cream cheeses and fruit pies. (tasted on Oct-16-2008)
93 • Kallfelz 2006 Single Vineyard, Riesling Kabinett, Rhein-Mosel $19.99.
Pale golden straw color. Dried apricot and diesel-like mineral aromas follow through on a crisp, round entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with great tangy flavor, excellent depth and laser-like acidity. Finishes with a nice wave of citrus peels, lychee nut, and chalk. A sensational, classically styled German riesling to go with oysters and smoked river trout. (tasted on Oct-16-2008)

Pale golden yellow color. Honey, ripe nectarine, grannysmith apple, and mossy earth aromas follow through on a soft, supple entry to a tangy, dry-yet-fruity light-to-medium body with honeyed grapefruit and lime accents. Finishes with a nice wave of tart green apple and delicately smoky minerality. A charming wine with pair with spicy mussels. (tasted on Oct-16-2008)
