Deep garnet black color. Subtly expressive aromas and flavors of white clay, gherkin, craisin, and chocolate nuts with a satiny, dry-yet-fruity medium-full body and a tangy pomegranate, dolmades, cedar, mocha, and delicate brown spice nuanced finish. Dark ruby with a red brick rim. Mature aromas suggest dried currants, leather, olive, almond custard, and forest floor with a supple, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a tangy, pomegranate sorbet and silt accented finish with plush tannins. Drinking very well now with great varietal character and balanced oak. A great choice for filet mignon with mushrooms. (tasted on Feb-03-2014)
