Garnet. Aromas and flavors of peanut nougat, berry pie crust, and leather with a supple, dry-yet-fruity medium body and spicy, well balanced finish with fine tannins. A great sipper or table wine. (tasted on Feb-25-2013)

Very nice "old world" nose of black cherries, black plums, ink and a smoky oak component. Rich entry and a bit of a hollow mid-palate. Will come together with time as this wine has an ample array of fine and harder tannins. (tasted on Feb-04-2013)

86 • PKNT 2010 Gold Reserve, Carmenère, Maule Valley $12.99. Best Buy.
Fun nose with hints of caramel corn and bright red fruits reminiscent of cherries and raspberries. Easy flavors follow and then fade rather quickly. Grippy, chewy tannins. (tasted on Feb-04-2013)
85 • Tabalí 2010 Reserva, Carmenère, Cachapoal Valley $14.99.
Very clean, precise nose of black cherries and a hint of balsa wood. Easy, yet tightly knit flavors follow. Toasted brewers yeast scent is a bonus. Flavors need to be amplified. (tasted on Feb-04-2013)
