Opaque garnet black color. Resonant aromas of currant jam and honey butter on toast and light menthol tobacco with a silky, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a tangy, brown spice, earth, and nutskin accented finish with chewy tannins. A serious table wine. (tasted on May-12-2014)

Purple black color. Aromas of melted chocolate, black raspberries, and peppery spices with a supple, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a tart berry and nutshell finish with clunky green tannins. Give this a bit of time. (tasted on May-12-2014)

Ruby black color. Aromas of chocolate berries, cherry vinaigrette, and peppery spices with a silky, fruity-yet-dry medium body and a tangy, dried sour cherry, chocolate pecan, and mineral accented finish. A very nice arc of tasty, table friendly flavors. (tasted on May-12-2014)

88 • Biltmore Estate NV "Century Red", American $15.99.
Ruby color. Aromas of chocolate graham cracker, dried berries and faint meat with a silky, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a tangy blood orange, craisin, and nut finish with chewy tannins. A made crafted and versatile table wine or sipper. (tasted on May-12-2014)
88 • Besitos NV Red Wine, California $14.99. Best Buy.
Dark ruby color. Aromas of berry custard, peppered pistachios, and caramelized bacon with a fruity medium body and a zesty chocolate orange and honeyed melon accented finish. A fun, fruity sipper. (tasted on May-12-2014)
88 • Bordeleau 2008 Amarone Style Wine, Maryland $24.
Dusty orange brick red color. Aromas of tomatoes on the vine, cinnamon vanilla cake, and honeyed dried cherries with a supple, fruity medium body and a raisin and mocha cream finish. A touch rustic at first but quite tasty and table friendly. Intriguing. (tasted on May-12-2014)
