87 • Tomasello NV Cherry Wine, New Jersey $10/500 ml. Best Buy.
Deep ruby color. Rich bing and maraschino cherry tart aromas follow through on a round, supple entry to a fruity sweet medium body with good depth and an earthy dimensional cherry meat and pit finish. Nice purity. (tasted on Dec-05-2009)
85 • Tomasello NV Blueberry Wine, New Jersey $10/500 ml.
Deep crimson ruby color. Spicy blueberry tart pie aromas follow through on a round entry to a fruity sweet light-to-medium body with good depth and a mossy, earth accent on the tangy, lightly savory finish. Try with ice cream. (tasted on Dec-05-2009)
82 • Tomasello NV Blackberry Wine, New Jersey $10/500 ml.
Deep ruby with a copper brown cast. Aromas of earthy, leafy blackberries in the basket follow through on a silky entry to a fruity-yet-dry medium body with glycerous texture, nice tanginess and touch of must. Finishes with a blackberry skin, mineral and yeasty umami accented finish. A bit rustic. (tasted on Dec-05-2009)
82 • Tomasello NV Cranberry Wine, New Jersey $10/500 ml.
Light crimson copper color. Aromas of funky blooming cheese rind and earthy cranberry bog follow through on a brisk entry to a tangy light-to-medium body with a brisk, tart cranberry skin and rooty earth fade with silty tannins. Somewhat reminiscent of still, rustic hard cider blended with raw cranberry juice. Interesting, try with goat cheeses. (tasted on Dec-05-2009)
