90 • Ozzie Ba Ru 2007 Chardonnay, Hunter Valley $17.  Organically Grown Grapes
Bright golden yellow color. Apple custard, baked pineapple, and toasty pecan praline aromas follow through on a round, supple entry to a fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body with very good depth and well balanced oak. Finishes in a long, tangy, juicy brown spice and kiwi accented fade with a hint of smoke. Very nice; pair with grilled Mahi mahi. (tasted on Jun-05-2009)
84 • Vendange 2008 Chardonnay, South-Eastern Australia $4.99. Best Buy.
Golden yellow color. Aromas of ripe apple, pear custard, and orange blossoms follow through on a round, supple entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body with tangy citrus and a hint of spice on the refreshing finish. A pleasant quaffer with roasted chicken. (tasted on Jun-12-2009)
81 • Banrock Station 2007 Chardonnay, South-Eastern Australia $6.99.
Praline and canned pineapple aromas follow through on a soft round entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with even flavors and a melon, baked lemon and apple tart fade. (tasted on Jun-12-2009)
