88 • Ficklin NV Old Vine "Tinta Port", Madera County $14.
Deep ruby color with a fading rim. Ripe blackberry, caramel, and cherry liqueur aromas. A silky entry leads to moderately sweet medium-to-full body with peppery spice accents and a crisp honeyed orange marmalade and mild mocha fade. A nice choice to accompany an after dinner cheese course. (tasted on Aug-15-2007)
