94 • Midnight Cellars 2006 "Nebula", Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles $24.
Deep garnet black color. Compact aromas of baked berries, melted toffee, spice and mint. Supple and lively with a fruity-yet-dry medium-full body. Rich lengthy finish with great ripe fruit and soft powdery tannins. A smooth, zesty, crowd pleasing cab to serve with Latin steak and pork dishes. (tasted on Aug-12-2010)
93 • Midnight Cellars 2005 Reserve, "Mare Nectaris", Paso Robles $44.
Inky violet color. Rich and complex aromas and flavors of clay, chocolate mint, blueberry pie crust, and Asian spices. Silky and buoyant with a dry-yet-fruity medium-full body. Long smooth olive and leather accented finish. A very elegant and polished table wine that will excel with prime rib. (tasted on Aug-12-2010)
92 • Midnight Cellars 2006 Estate, Merlot, Paso Robles $19. Best Buy.
Aromas of plums, nut brittle, and chocolate raspberry mousse follow through on a round, supple entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body with great depth and tangy mouthwatering acidity. Finishes with a long, tangy berry skin, peppercorn, and earthy tannin fade. Very nice. (tasted on Jul-19-2010)
