88 • Château Ste. Michelle 2006 "Ethos" Syrah, Columbia Valley $30.
Deep garnet violet color. Aromas of berries on the bush, clay, and mixed peppercorns follow through on a round, supple entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body with notes of poached apple, violets and cocoa. Finishes with a long, chewy tannin, warming pepper and mineral fade. A very nice table wine to pair with short ribs. (tasted on Jan-07-2010)
88 • Château Ste. Michelle 2007 Limited Release, Mourvédre, Wahluke Slope, Columbia Valley.
Deep, nearly opaque purple garnet color. Dense aromas of baked berries, cedar and herbs follow through on a round entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body with melted chocolate notes. Finishes tangy, chewy tannin fade. A very nice table with to pair with pork tenderloins. (tasted on Jan-04-2010)

Ruby garnet color. Jammy aromas of raspberries, cherries and vanilla with a hint of pencil shavings follow through on a buoyant entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with a touch of tomato. Finishes with a drying, grippy nutskin and dusty mineral fade. A nice Old world styled red wine, reminiscent of Cotes du Rhone. Serve with lamb. (tasted on Jan-04-2010)
