Deep copper mahogany color. Dense, compacted aromas of buttered nuts, leather, brown spices, and pink peppercorns. A rich entry leads to a dryish full body of honeyed nut toast, pralines, anise, clove, figs, and exotic peppercorns. Finishes with a ton of wood spice, nut oil, charred oak, saddle leather, and blazing pepper. A velvet brick of a rye. (tasted on Jan-29-2008)

Bright amber color. Sweet toffee, cedar cigar box, carrot cake frosting, and coconut custard aromas follow through on a supple, round entry to a dry-yet-fruity full body with cascading layers of dried fruits, spiced nuts, and oak notes.
