Latest U.S. red meritage, cab & merlot reviews
We have reviewed 230 U.S. reds that made from the ever popular Bordeaux grape varieties of cabernet sauvignon and merlot, and slightly less in vogue cabernet franc.
A good number of these are late-released wines from 1998, a year that certainly suffered in comparison to the highly regarded 1997 vintage. However, we found some very nice 1998s, but they are generally firmer and lighter in style than corresponding efforts from 1997. The balance came mainly from the more successful 1999 vintage.
