Insiders Club members take note: Now is the time to make a 1997 Brunello purchase. Do not wait!

At the time of writing in mid-March, the first prices were being released and it was amazing to see that the first shipments of wines such as Fuligni, Costanti, and Pertimali will be hitting the shelves between $40 and $60 per bottle. The top wines at these prices will be a steal. I fully expect to see many of them trading at over $100 per bottle next year and much more in auction markets over the next several years.

If you can afford them to begin with, these wines will make great investments. To begin with, they are scarce. Remember, there are single Bordeaux estates that make more wine that the top few producers in Montalcino put together. Additionally, not much Brunello ever comes to auction. It would seem that, unlike Bordeaux, enthusiasts buy Brunello to drink, not to sell.
