Ruby black color. Aromas and flavors of spiced berries, plums and cherries, chocolate toffee, hint of a blt, and cracked pepper with a silky, lively, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a smooth, intriguing, medium-long finish with notes of craisin and nectarine, sweet and peppery spices, and marinated beets with fine, dusty tannins and a suggestion of oak flavor. A lovely red blend with fine balance and engaging savoriness.

Vin de Pays Other Red

Vin de Pays are for better or worse, country wines - simple, everyday offerings that offer charm and local character for not a lot of money. The wines are usually named for their grape types. Besides Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, other reds include Pinot Noir as well as blended reds. These are medium-bodied wines with moderate tannins, good acidity and a lighter herbal character. They are fine values, priced in the $10-$12 range in most cases. Drink fresh and pair with stews, lighter poultry and bistro cuisine.
