Brilliant gold color. Rubbery aromas of packaged ground coffee and matcha, plantain chips, charred vanilla bean, and dry earth with a crisp, medium body and a peppery, thought-provoking, medium-long bone marrow, charred artichoke, dried oregano and anise, and wilted arugula finish. An earthy Agricole for contemplative sipping.

Rhum Agricole Ambre AOC

Spirits Glass Rocks Amber.jpg

Rhum Agricole Ambré, like all agricole rhums, are an AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée) designated and protected spirit produced from fresh squeezed sugar cane juice, instead of molasses, and according to the AOC regulation for "élevé sous bois" (cask aged rum) aged in used oak whisky or brandy barrels for not less than 12 months.

This straw-to-amber colored rhums are generally full bodied and robust, frequently bottled at 100 proof, with a balance of spicy, creamy oak tones and subtle grassy, peppery flavors that reveals their fresh cane origin.

With flavors such as pocreme brulee and brown baking spices, these are exotic and quite distinctive spirits that are enjoyed on the rocks or as mixing rums for tiki or exotic cocktails; they blend particularly well with fruit flavors. The classic Rhum Agricole Ambré cocktail is the Ti Punch which is simply Rhum Agricole, sugar cane syrup, ice, and a shaved and twisted lime.

These rhums are formally differentiated from fresh cane juice based rhums from other French Caribbean islands, like Haiti and Guadeloupe, by the AOC designation, but it is common practice to refer to all fresh cane rums as 'agricole rums'.
